Selecting a Health Website
Below are a few tips to find a health website that is reliable: 1. Make sure the site isn’t trying to sell you something. 2. Find out who runs the site and if they are a reliable source. 3. Where do they get their information? 4. Is the information on the site up to date? Can you find a date that it was posted? 5. Is the site based on educational material? Sites that I would recommend viewing: https://www.cdc.gov www.americanheart.org https://medlineplus.gov www.diabetes.org www.cancer.org https://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/index.shtml These sites follow all of the above criteria and are known as being accredited sites to receive education and gain support as a patient.
